MANAGING ABSENCE

We often forget the impact absence has not only on the business e.g. days lost due to absence leading to lowered productivity, but on individual team members. Absence may result in increased workload and therefore increased pressure for team members covering absence. Similarly the absentee returning to work after a long period may find the situation daunting. This workshop will equip you with the right tools to manage absence effectively by:

– Discuss the different reasons behind absence
– Explore the differing levels of seriousness and selecting appropriate actions for each
– Understand where the boundaries lie according to Lifetime policy
– Discuss the extent to which personal judgement can be used
– Learn what to do during absence and the ‘return to work’ process
– Create a plan for team absence
